New base unit - best price
Nothing fancy, anything from a P3 1 ghz upwards, just needs to be able to run XP and browse the net using broadband. Already have broadband modem, not a great downloader or on-line gamer.
Any suggestions welcome. Kevin. |

£399.99 or £360 if you know someone who works for DSG. This is hard to beat, eMachines are steady and relaible; they use a Ghost recovery instead of flakey hidden sector recovery like PB and Compaq/HP and replacement recovery media is free. DSG has priced this machine to match entry level kit from firms like Tiny/Time, its way superior and the service proposition is hard to better; in my opinion, of course. Simon |
You can find the same spec as the pc world from DELL for lots less.
It takes some searching but you can get a base unit for less than £150 (inc delivery, VAT and P&P) (Celeron 2.4 Ghz, 256Mb ram, 40Gb hdd, dvd/cdrw, XP home, works 7.0, speakers, keyboard, mouse etc etc). You can then add a 17" monitor for £59+VAT or a 15" flatscreen for £159 +VAT. If you need help finding these, then email me as per profile (20£ fee should cover it). Andy. |

Cheers guys, Scoobs 4ever, where on earth can you find a Dell base unit for that price? I've been through their clearance stuff and get nowt less than £450. Tried to email as per profile but SNET won't allow it?? email me on groatkj@v21mail.co.uk.
Thanks |
Cong - that was in reference to £400 for an all in one motherboard celeron from PCWORLD (grits teeth). Which is only £54 less and look at the spec of that, and that is just our receptionists machine.
You can also by from blowout deals sections for less than £200 assembled. |
Will you tell me as well Scoobs, as Im not the corporate boy that I might appear.....
