I telephoned a place in wembley this weekend and he said he has got a load of GOODYEAR F1`s in 16 inch size comming in.

He only wants £55 per tyre !!!! Now that sounds like a bargain to me. I have never used the bloke so its a gamble but at that price.

I suspect these are F1s made in Thailand. The difference is the tyre grade, it is probably grade B or C - grades determine the compound quality.

Thanks for the tour - i'll take Maldives pls.

er, what difference does this make?

most UK sold tyres will have probably been manufactured in 'parts foreign' - or is there some other reason that we would want to buy tyres made to a certain grade? - aren't the industry standard tyre gradings enough to protect us? - ie if speed rating and loading figures are correct, why worry?

anyone in the industry?

There was a thread about cheap F1s at Wembley Tyres very recently (try a search). At least one person here has bought F1s from there and I haven't heard any complaints.

At the time Wembley were quoting £65 + valves + balancing + VAT, so about £80 per wheel fitted. They obviously just get cheaper and cheaper! £70 fitted is a bargain.

Since Malique mentions potentially poorer quality tyres it's worth checking the ratings on the side of the tyre. Should have traction and temperature ratings of 'A'.
