I have a problem regarding the brakes on my my97. I changed the pads to Mintex, bedded them in and all was o.k until a few days later. The brakes started squealing when crawling in traffic and when I used them very hard they locked up just before stopping.

I removed the pads, used copperslip on the back plates and checked that the pistons were not seized up (they were o.k and perfectly clean). Now they hardly squeal at all but still lock up just before the car stops when hard braking. It feels like the o/s front locks up first but the steering does not pull to one side more than the other, any idea’s anyone?

Thanks.
Dean.

Dean, This is a sort of trademark from Mintex pads. I've got 1155's in my WRX and they squeal like mad until really hot. If you do a search on the bbs I think you'll find quite a few people have the same happening.
I think the problem is the dust from the pads.
Mark
