Anyone driven a Clio182 yet?
 

Selling my my98 scooby and thinking of buying a 182 but none of my local dealers have any demonstrators yet, is there anybody out there driven one and has preferably owned a scooby to compare.
Have got a good price from Drivethedeal.com- £13,057.07 including cup suspension and spoiler options.

Evo have done a few tests lately, have a search on evo.co.uk, they loved it!

A couple of people on www.cliosport.net have ask on there mate friendly bunch of people. it seems to be getting good reviews more power and better handling

tinhead - also worth checking out Autoebid. A quick search on a Clio 182 with Cup suspension and spoiler came in at £12945.

Ive got one. Picked it up yesterday. Bit early to give a full evaluation, but enjoying it so far - sold the 350Z so its got a lot to live upto. Seems well screwed together. Not as many ratltles yet as you average VW.


There are dealers with demos. I test drove one last weekend. Just ring round a few more dealers. Price wise I also used Drive The Deal as a reference. I think you may save a few more pounds trying a couple of other brokers, but the car might be pre registered.

I paid £13,350 inc Cup Suspension, Spoiler and Metalic paint, so pretty much matched Drive the Deal. Sent emails to a few dealers, told them what I wanted and got a couple of calls back. My main desire was ex stock, which limited the response. It would appear that there are very few 182's in the country now and even less with the Cup set up. IMHO you need the Cup set up for resale - ride quality is damn good.

If you order a new car now, you are looking at sometime in May.

They're also doing the 172 at £10,800. I'm tempted to chop in the Mrs's Mini for one (she doesn't know yet :D), should be nearly a straight swap at that price.

If they made those tailpipes a bit longer and did a convertible version - you'd have a super sized wheelbarrow :D

It's been well received. Won't feel as quick as a Scoob but a good car. Get this month's Evo where it beats Cooper S and CTR.

Had a drive in one today, didnt go very far but what a hoot! acceleration is frantic when the vvti kicks in and you are constantly changing gear, the steering is pin sharp and the brakes were fantastic. The demo had the cup suspension on it and it felt nice but the usual short wheelbase choppiness was still evident (and them grey wheels would need painting!) I could honestly see that car keeping up with the scoob on a twisty road, I liked it a lot but it was awful small inside,

If you do drive one remember like the 172s they are v tight for the first 3-4k miles after which performance improves considerably.
