Price to travel on the tube
 

My dad is off to London soon, he was wondering what sort of costs are involved in using the tube.

it's a little under £5 for an all day travel card, provided you don't want to go anywhere before 09:30.

exact costs depend on which zones you want to get to and from.

If he's using the tube to travel through onto another destination then get a single. If he's visiting london (especially central london) then definitely get a travelcard and hop on/off to his hearts content. Can use the buses with it too.
