Finally got done for illegal plates!!
 

...after 9 months i got pulled for my teeny weeny front plates while driving down the great north rd at Harrogate. How the copper spotted me i don't know...he must have eyes like a hawk. My car was well hidden from his view.
Anyway, at least he was friendly. He loved the car and said he gets to drive one of the two ppp ones that his police force have at Richmond and Harrogate for A and B road use. Said he still can't believe how they stay on the road as he boots it around tight bends....i agreed :D
Only problem he said, was some local villagers complain about the noise from the exhausts of their two Scoobs........Police with big fat noisy exhausts?? :D whatever next?

By the way, i got a £30 fine and told to change the plates when i got home. Yorkshire police are having a big clamp down on plates...which is fair enough.

Same here, got pulled about a month ago, just got a 14 day "get it sorted" ticket. £30 ! must be another way of generating revenue for them

I had my number plate on my car for about a year and got pulled over 3 times (I never learn :confused: ). All I had to do was get it changed and then get an MOT Station to stamp a document and then also produce my docs....I never got a fine :D

I dont know how illegal your number plates were, mine were 12 Inch x 2 inch plates and all I know is that the police didn't like it,......hey ho !!!

Yep...that's the size i've got. They look absolutely fantastic on the front of my car with a p1 front splitter.

Entering into chit chat with him would have been fine had he just advised you to change them.

Having fined you however small talk is a no-no.

I get pulled my fair share as well.
