FAO Jools

Hi Jools, I am getting the Prodrive springs fitted at the end of the month and was wondering if there were any other components (bushes etc) I should get fitted/changed at the same time. Don't want to create extra work but if the bits are off tha car then may as well upgrade them.

Cheers

Marc

A couple more bits and the car will be transformed...

Hi Marc,
Rob and I had the Whitleline ARB, c/w solid drop links done at the back of the car at the same time. We also fitted the Whiteline anti lift kit at the front end and had the geometry set up more aggres-sively than the so-called Prodrive settings, which I think is 1 degree negative. PowerStation use 1.25 degrees and I went for a setting of 1.5 degrees, with the rears turned in ever so slightly. We had all our work done at Falkland and they know what they are doing and will advise you, depending on what you want. I would recommend doing all the work at the same time, as it’s not silly money to get the parts you need from PowerStation. They do seem to know what they are doing with regard to getting our cars handling better than they are out the box. Make sure Falkland take care of your alloys; Young mechanic laid a couple of Robs down face to the floor and scratched them slightly. If you get the work done all at the same time it will be cheaper than going back a second time and the geometry is always a pain in the backside to get just right. Takes time…and money, but the car will be transformed, no doubt about that!

BTW, Young KP has got a couple of kerbed 18” alloys refurbished (same as yours and mine) and they have come back like brand new. They are the bright flitter ones, kind of like Rob’s ones ;) and the lad has matched the paint code spot on. Terrific job; mine will be going for a make over when I get home, that’s for sure.

Hope this helps,
Jools

Jools it is Fiskens that are going to be doing the work so can't go too mental.

Let me know where KP got his wheels done so I can get mine done as well.

Cheers

Marc

Opps

Marc,
Sorry; the wheels bit reads wrong, it was KP that organised the work on the wheels and it is done through PPS. You should call for a price for the ARB and ALK, a couple of hundred quid well spent.

Fiskens should be able to set the car up to whatever settings you want; Fred is very helpful.

Jools is PPS in Inverurie?

Also does Keith work there, and I have forgotten his last name.

Cheers

Marc, I'm back.
Sorry bud, Offshore right now and we lost our comms for 4-days….and the IT guys couldn’t put it back together again! Should have called RobD to help…but like I say....we had no comms.

YKP is the fellow. Him and his Mum run PPS in Inverurie. Like Rob said, he will sort you out when he gets home. My car is there if you need to borrow a set of wheels. Could put the space savers on the back and leave the front on axle stands if you need all four. (Space saver won’t go over the brembos on the front and the second space saver would come from BKS if required).
Never a good idea to leave the complete car on axle stands, just ask my brother ;)

Catch you later. Jools

re Gumball - maybe's aye - I'll speak with James :)

Cheers Jools, I'll give Rob a call on Thursday. The wheels have been off the car all winter so no problems there, fancy going for a colour change but I guess I should stick to the gold. Drop me a line when you get back and hopefully we can get together.

PS Have you seen Erics new ride
