New Dorset Dealer

I think I have found the new dorset dealer.

There was a post up here ages ago saying it was Olympion and they were right.
Just been down there and to the left of the Renault Service Center they is a building with a couple of Subaru's in, a WRX and forester I think.

What I want to know is, who is going to be servicing our cars?
Will it be trained Renault mechanics??

RON 08 March 2004 11:17 PM

Davey,
a guy posted up the details a while back, he assured us that there would be 'Subaru' techies, so I guess we'll have to wait and see, gotta be better than no dealer surely!

Oh Dear...
Olympian don't have one of the better reputations for customer satisfaction.
I've heard all sorts of stories...

I'll give 'em a chance though - maybe they've got their act together these days.

They utterly stitched me up on a gearbox on my R19 16v once. I would be *very* reluctant to buy anything from them.

Come back Spar****s all is forgiven!!

Still I can look forward to a clio loan car then, If you think their service dept is crap you ain't seen nothing till their paint shop gets hold of your car.

Dooooh

John
Sounds like bad news - the missus took her car there yesterday for a bodywork repair
What was your experience ?

The best/funniest story I heard (just to demonstrate incompetence) was a friend of mine (we'll call him Mr Smith) who needed a new rear window for Renault 19. They phoned him to say it was in stock so he booked his car in to have it fitted.
On the day, he took his car all the way over to them and managed to grab a lift off a friend to get home again.
Later in the day he went back to pick up his car only to find the work hadn't been done...
Olympian: "I'm sorry but we don't have a new window for your car"
Mr Smith: "But you phoned and told me you did!!"
Olympian: "Well, we do have one, but unfortunately its reserved for a Mr Smith, sorry"

aaaagh!!!

says it all really...

DBY 09 March 2004 12:49 PM

Nick a good mate of mine worked in there body shop and had various tales to tell about morale and standard of work produced so make shure you check the car over when you get it back.

Regards

John

John
Thanks - it's an insurance claim on someone else, so no harm in making sure it gets done right - well I'll try anyway

What?

Ok, what the hell's a "Subaru Impreza Turbo Sport"?

According to Olympian's advert on 2CR this morning you can go and see it at their new Subaru dealership.

Might go along - I'm curious!! ;)

Well over the road from them are to very nice big glass boxes selling Nissan one side and Toyota the other, What do we Subaru owners get ? Youv'e guessed it a white painted tin corragated shed housing three cars tucked right round the back!! No room for parking cars, (Reaults) littered every wear. It' the sort of place that you take your car in for a service and when you pick it up, It's covered in car park dings, What a pile of ****e!!!!

Well lets start from the top - Nissan and Toyota have about a 4% market share each - hence why Westover have spent millions on their new showrooms. Subaru market share is less than 1% !!
Secondly, as IM will tell you - the current building is temporary - the dealership will move into a revamped facility in the summer. IM did not want Dorset to be an "open point" for longer than neccessary - hence the "temporary " facilities - to give you owners a place to get your cars serviced.
I cant see how you can call the place ****e when the place has only just started with the franchise !
There will be a Subaru qualified technician, and Renault techs will not be working on your cars !
I would give them a chance - who knows they may be ok !!
Olympian cannot be that bad - otherwise they wouldn't get new franchises and wouldn't still be in business after 15 years of trading !

DBY 12 March 2004 09:50 PM

CarlT fair play if it's only temporary facility, I look forward to the revamped dealership in due course however I hope the one Subaru technician never goes sick or takes any holiday!!

The one tech will become 2 as they get busier.
IM have given them a very short timeframe to get the new showroom sorted ! It will be done by the end of the summer !
