Whats the best comprehensive warranty policy?

If i want to buy a car and want the most complete cover possible and annual fee is almost no object, does anyone have any recommendations for a third part warranty company?

cheers

Don't know a third party that ever came recommended as people appear to have much trouble getting money out of them. If money's no object, take the risk that you won't need to use the warranty - may end up better off.

I would strongly reccommend reading "ALL" the small print, as not all these warranty policies are as good as they really are.
Most of them will only cover a "failure" of an item, so dont expect to get anything fixed untill it has totally stopped on the roadside. So if the gearbox starts to be a bit sluggish into gear, or piston slap/knock is heard, forget getting it sorted whilst it is still something "easy". The warranty company will send an independent engineer out who is genuinley biased into squirming his way out of any claim, thus leaving you with a motor stripped down and "now" a hefty bill to pay to get it back on the road again.

Yes, I speak from experience and so will many others on this site no doubts.

So, take your time, read everything down to the last comma, they are important to how things are "really" worded.

is gearbox usually covered with warranty?

I would expect the gearbox to be covered but it would depend on the mileage for the clutch.

Mechanical breakdown [ spelt: rip off ] Insurance

Save your money mate - none of them are worth a fa*t :( . We argue all the time on behalf of customers when cars come to us we 'win' one in five. AND most seem like genuine cases that should be accepted to us...............

PS also bear in mind they don't pay VAT either, so your bill will be reduced by the 'unclaimable' VAT.
