Cheapest internet site for new UK WRX Scooby

Looking to get a brand new Scooby

anyone know any good internt sites for a UK Car - want the car within the next few weeks....

Wife can get this for £18800 through her company..... anyone know any good sites - I have seen pre-registed ones for £17k - but I dont want a pre-registered one

Any ideas...... £18k would be nice for the 4 door wrx turbo (i.e. a 10% discount to the main dealers that dont seem to do any discount at all!!)

Rgds in advance

Steve

Some car sites:

autoebid.com
jamjar.com
micronetshowroom.com
drivethedeal.com

Not sure which are the cheapest, or if they are actually any good. What Car magazime usually recommend a broker - Carfile - do a google search for the phone number.

Dont forget the hidden costs, like RAC tracker with UK car, underseal, CAT1 alarm imob, 3 year IM warantty ....

Im not saying dont do it just make sure you 100% compare specs first

Micronet and DTD only supply UK cars sourced from UK dealers, bought using fleet buying power.

Carfile

I'm buying a new UK Subaru dealer supplied MY04 WRX @ £18,600.00 through Carfile. Ask for 'Pat' and explain what you're looking for a Subaru WRX and he'll get the UK Dealer to call you back.

Thanks for that

Whats this about RAC Tracker, underseal, etc - I'm just looking for a UK car - would'nt want RAC Tracker (isnt it Trackstar?) - does this come standard with the new WRX? - which would mean I have to pay some sort of annual fee for?

....got my 2002 WRX from Jamjar and the price included CAT1 alarm, underseal and 3yr IM warranty

papascooby 10 March 2004 10:44 AM

got my UK MY04 WRX yesterday.

Paid £18,600 for the car.

Ended up paying £20,200 as I went for a few options
Tracker - 750 (inc. lifetime subs....reduced insurance by £150 per annum)
Metallic paint - 250
Prodrive Quickshift - 350 (snickety-snick...change gear quick :o) - well worth it)
Door sills - 150
Mats 50

Makro prices don't include VAT so they are over £17K OTR which is average for imports.

I paid £16,145 for my MY03 WRX 4dr.

Try Eusacar, i beleive they advertise in Scoobyshop.

Seen a WR1 for 26697 at www.micronetshowroom.com, just got a long waiting time :(

Fangoria 11 March 2004 05:52 PM

Thanks for all this

Gives me a fair bit to go on........

Wont be going down the Import route....... again - did this for a Honda Civic Type R - got it with Aircon for £13k.....but a 5 month wait........

Want the car by Mid April.......... (end April at the very latest!)

The £18800 I have includes Mats and Metallic Paint on the wrx...... but I think I should be able to get it for about £18500.....

scooby-zeus28 11 March 2004 06:38 PM

why dont u import a car from europe mate u save money and u get your warranty

Fangoria 11 March 2004 07:28 PM

Cos it takes 12-20plus weeks to get an import sorted................

Plus the e/r with Europe is not that great at the moment - 1.47 interbank....... if the Euro rate was up near 1.6 (which it should be already!!) then I would get from abroad as could get at a good price and wouldnt bother using an intermediary as they are a rip off..........

Fangoria 11 March 2004 09:27 PM

Plus insurance can be a pain on imports

L and V suck Big Time on standard new Turbo's

LV = £912
Churchill through screentrade = £800
Elephant = £742......

Online is obviously the one to go for...........

Harry_Boy 11 March 2004 09:46 PM

Insurance not usually a problem on UK spec imports from Europe to be honest.

The wait can be a real pain though and, with the Euro relatively strong against the Pound, there's little incentive to go the import route at the moment.

When I imported mine from Belgium (March '02), the exch rate was about 1.65, which translates into a well cheap Scooby. :D:D:D

scooby-zeus28 11 March 2004 10:58 PM

spoke 2 a subaru dealer in cyprus they join the eu on first of 1st may and they use uk spec cars and he said it will cost about £22000 to import an sti over here then u just got road tax and registion fee

Fangoria 14 March 2004 12:13 PM

Seems autoebid is the cheapest so far at £18487 inc Metallic paint on an MY04 wrx

It would be about £1k plus cheaper on an import - but I dont want the hassle - dont want an sti either as I have a 400bhp+ sti ( MY1999) as a 'spare' car anyway....

Just want a bog standard wrx as a runaround.............

Anyone know any other internet sites as I must place my order by next week or the wife will start to get 'annoyed'!!!

fuz 14 March 2004 12:23 PM

could be some MY03's still on dealer lots

Don't forget that you'll need to pay their charges (unless you've already included them in your figure).

Fangoria 14 March 2004 11:44 PM

Amount is already included in the figure above.............

Dont want an old MY03...................

Fangoria 18 March 2004 04:26 PM

Anyone on here actually used autoebid as I was gonna place my order tomorrow - as they are the cheapest by a few hundred £
