Hi,

After repalcing my rear disks (MY96 UK) with grp N ones (last twice as long) I noticed that the pads do not seem to contact much of the disks width. I wouldn't mind so much if the pad at least went to the outer edge and missed out some of the area from the inner edge but there seems to be a lot from the outer edge missed off. About 8mm from a total width of about 34.

I know I need to replace the pads and that the ones in there are almost certainly Subar so a couple of questions:

a) has anyone else noticed this?

b) any recommendations for pads that sweep right to the outer edge?

The braking effect is increaed the furthur from the centre the pad works (leverage effect) so any gains here should be felt. I know it isn't much but when the brakes are that cruddy any increase is better than none...

Ta

Dave
