Don't know if anyone else has used these people, but I've just had a quote of £150 per trye for 205/50 r16's from Just Tyres. Now I know some people have been able to get them cheaper, but these guys include a milage guarantee of 20,000 miles. Now at the rate I get through tyres i.e. every 10,000 miles, I will get my next set for half price http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Apparantly they don't care what you do with them, I mentioned Nova drivers and burnouts, as well as track days and the chap did not bat an eyelid. All you have to do is keep your reciept and have them check your tyres for balance and pressure every 6 months/6,000 miles. You also have to have your alignment checked every 6 months or 6000 miles as well, by them or by another garage(keep reciept)

Don't know what they would do if you bought a new set and trashed them on a track day though http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Paul

p.s. I have no connection to the company blah.. blah... blah...etc.

If they require alignment checks etc. every six months at about £40 a time, that would explain what pays for your discount next time!.

Pretty impressive if they really let someone else check them though.

I have the opposite problem - I'm finding it almost impossible to wear out the original RE010s so I can justify replacing them with something better!.

As I said, I haven't had to change my tyres yet, but £150 for 205/50 R16 seems expensive - what are they?

Cheers,

A

I thougth the 16" S02 were not very good. there have been a lot of complaints on the board about them.

GaryC 06 October 1999 09:23 AM

S02s have been subject of much debate - personally I think they are by far the best around - a point backed by everyone I have spoken to 'in the know' and having tested them against others. I have never come across anyone who has not replaced worn S02s with new S02s.

They offer superb wet and well above average dry grip. Hence why they are the default tyres on TVRs, Porsches, Most Ferraris.......... I've used them for 2 years (both normal and PPs) and rate them far superior to others cars I have driven back to back with different tyres.

On cost 150 is very high - Ring alan at Pemberton Tyres in Wigan he will do S02s fitted etc for around 115+VAT

If you go mail order to elite or someone, they should do them for less than 100, but you will have to find a fitter.

I won't be replacing my worn 16" SO2's with the same make!

I've been 7k miles on them, the first 1.5k miles they were VERY slippery & had to be run-in. They are feeling tired (sic) now, so that gives 5k of use. There is plenty of tread in the centre, but the shoulders of each tyre are completely shot. (No track days).

Yoko AVS Sports for me!

OK £115+vat = £135 so not a huge amount of difference and blimy thats in Wigan, I'm in Aylesbury. £150 includes everything. I am replacing SO2 PP's with SO2 PP's I love them.

The point of the post was not to start the great SO2 debate again, you either lov'em or hate'm, but to point out that they will guarantee that the tyres will last last 20000 miles, now at 10000 per set which I get that works out at £75 per tyre for every subsequent set http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
