Laptops, GPRS and O2
Can someone confirm if *99# is the correct 'number' for making an internet connection via a laptop on the O2 network?
TIA Mark |
not a laptop, but an Ipaq (same difference really!)
Mark,
I'm not using a laptop, but an Ipaq, but the number I use is *99#. Make sure that you have got GPRS enabled on your account. O2 told me that they had set it up but in fact they hadn't so I was on a hiding to nothing for a while. I'm using an Ipaq 1940 and a Nokia 6110. I needed to get a text message from O2 support that configured my phone with the relevant settings and then everything went smootly after that, with very simple setup on the pocketPc (configured to use *99#). I'm sure a laptop would be little different. HTH Joolz |

Seems to work though the connection seems very slow sometimes. Any idea what the data rate for GPRS is? Mark |
I'm trying to do similar on my iPaq 5550, but can't seem to find an O2 tech support number, do you have it ?
Cheers, T |
Not too sure on the data rate, depends on more than one thing:
