link/uk 99 ecu running sti v6 engine

i've been told by bob rawle all i have to do is change a certain two wires about and all is ok but what ones is it?

AlanG 04 March 2004 07:32 PM

Are you not talking about the dip switches on the board and not physical wiring?

drb5 04 March 2004 07:38 PM

dunno alan. all bob said was two wires needed changing or swopping. have sent him an email for more info but no reply as yet:(

dowser 04 March 2004 08:20 PM

As per 22b thread, crank and cam position sensor wires need swapping.

thanks dowser:D

I should qualify my statement I guess - if you were silly enough to fit a stock phase 2 STi ecu into a Euro car, this is what you would need to do....I assume the link ecu's are the same :)

dunno tbh bud. i've asked another question on 22b, but i'm just going by what bob says is all.:)

AlanG 04 March 2004 08:41 PM

I don't know myself tbh, never having owned an Sti and never heard of actual wiring having to be changed but good to find out if it is.
I thought it might have been down to dip switch position on the Link because the Sti's won't have the immobiliser but that's a stoopid thought cause drb5's car is a uk car with an sti engine about to go in.

drb5 04 March 2004 08:43 PM

oh f3ck. so i will no longer have an immobiliser???:( what about the alarm?

Bob Rawle 04 March 2004 09:56 PM

Dave you have mail, my comment related to running with an sti ecu, since you are using the wiring loom thats in there with the link it will not need any changes, the immobiliser is nothing to do with the engine or ecu and is a separate module if installed.

cheers

bob
