Newbie Question - Turbo Spool Up

Mate who owns EVO6 noticed that you could really hear his turbo spool up from inside.

Car is a MY00 would be nice to hear the whoosh when I pedal goes down.

PPP Engine pack but apart from that standard.....(for now anyway)

thanks in advance

Strange, I had a V and you could not hear the turbo at all !, and they are virtually identical cars (Had the ceramic turbo not the titanium one)

But in the STi I can here the turbo but its very quiet.

You mate may need to check his VI out, unless it has been modified or its an RS.

As Gary says your mate may want to have his car looked at. If it's as obvious as you're making out, the turbo may be on its way south.

A good (STi, K&N, Green) panel filter will help a bit, a decat downpipe will help a lot if this is what you're after. Be wary of overboost after fitting the downpipe if that's the way you choose to go, as PPP'd cars can be prone to this.

Ok thanks for your comments replacement panel filter is a definate, probaly avoid downpipe then dont wont the hassle with overboast.

The evo has a hks induction kit and racing suction kit, full decat pipe and downpipe running appox 300bhp id say.
