WYIOC - Fenay Bridge Meet - Thursday 25th

Ladies & Gents...

The next installment will prove to be a goodun.. This meet (Details available at our site www.wyioc.co.uk) will have plenty of stories of derring doo mixed in with fantastic tales of power slides and 0-60's "this big".

See all the people with huge grins and waving arms...
Watch as slaps on the back are dished out as tales of bravado and Solbergesque driving skills are debated...
Laugh at the odd sheepish look on a few faces in the corner too..
Cry to tales of missed tenths and oversteer..
If you look close.. you may see the odd dent? (god forbid!)...

What, may you ask, is all the fuss about?
That's a great question! :D
Thanks..

12 Days prior to this event will be the Fenay Bridge 'Fun Day', where there will be plenty of adrenalin fuelled activity that will no doubt all result in the above...

Dave's thread here http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=299029 has the details of the 'Fun Day' event. There are spectator places galore and a few driver slots as well.. Pop along and bang your name down..

So, you MUST come along to listen to all the heroes and their tall stories at 'The Bridge' ... you'll not regret it.. you'll be bored stupid.. but you won't regret it.. :D

Post you names early as we're only allowed 5,000 'tickets' .. ;)

MadGrip 03 March 2004 09:18 PM

Phil,
funny you should mention Dentmaster.
Ive got a 10p size dent on drivers door needs sorting, anyone else after dents removing and know whos good?
maybe we could arrange a group ding removal!

projucer 04 March 2004 11:21 AM

is it possible to organise a one-off 'meet' in bradford?

projucer 04 March 2004 01:08 PM

fenay bridge - is that anywhere near penistone road?

MadGrip 04 March 2004 01:11 PM

I think it's on Penistone road, but I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong.

Phil

There maybe some directions on our website www.wyioc.co.uk

Flat Faw 04 March 2004 01:16 PM

Silver Sonic

I've used Scratches And Scuffs, Kirkstall Leeds on my Impreza's dents. Very cheap compared to Dentmaster. Good job done. Also have a van on the road for mobile repairs I think. Do alloy refurb as well.

Count me in :)

I presume they'll be the usual convoy (that's if all our cars are still roadworthy after the "fun day") :D

Hopefully it'll be a bit warmer this time...

Projucer,

Phil's spot on. All the details are on our site.

As for Bradford, we're starting to look at other things to be doing and get involved with. So if there is anything in Bradford that you think will be of intereset, then let us know.

mick02wrx 04 March 2004 04:01 PM

Ive just purchased a digital video camera (convinsed the missis it was a good idea as our second child is on the way, 60% of me thought it would be great for the fun day)

I will be recording the fun day and this wil be available to be viewed at the next fenay bridge meeting.

Also if possible i could send or somehow supply a copy to alan to put on the wyioc web site.

See you all on the track, (in my rear view mirror!)

Mick

Harry_Boy 04 March 2004 04:02 PM

Bradford??? How about a Fenay Bridge curry nibbling eve?? :D:D:D Yorkshire Simon known where I'm thinking of.

silver sonic 04 March 2004 06:38 PM

" one off meet in Bradford"

is this because none of us will have our cars after the meet? :p

Harry_Boy 04 March 2004 06:44 PM

Yup - definitely have at least 20% 'attrition' during the meal - at least where I'm thinking of..... :D:D:D

STEVECHAPS 04 March 2004 07:55 PM

Was going to put "Oy, leave it out, I'm from Bradford & It's a lovely........" but then decided you're right :D

corradoboy 04 March 2004 10:39 PM

WYIOC curry night. Chris, I think you can organise this one :D

Harry_Boy 05 March 2004 09:14 AM

Dave - probably going tonight - just me & Kath. Oh, and in an Arosa as well.... ;)

projucer 05 March 2004 10:02 AM

i can guarantee/assure you 200% that your cars will not be 'nicked' once in bradford - stop stereotyping! why not arrange the last thursday (29th) of april to be held in bradford! if you want to have the 'curry' theme then may i suggest the TOP 3 restaurants in bradford - www.anams.co.uk - www.mumtaz.co.uk - www.akbars.co.uk - if you guys give the go ahead then i can start hunting 'sub' owners of bradford to come to this meet (and hopefully get them to become members).

projucer 05 March 2004 10:13 AM

1st of all this sunday is the tyne tees scooby rolling road day at well lane turbo centre! i'm not a member and will only be going down as a spectator - try and be there if you can (10am). o.k. next time if you ever see the following then either horn or wave and i'll assume it's one of you... i have a 95 wrx automatic wagon (import) - 7-tone pearl flip paint job, blitz nur spec 5" - turbo xs h-rfl (loudest dump valve in the world) - induction kit - 18" bk racing wheels (black chrome with silver lip) - 45mm drop front / 40mm rear - one off splitter at front (meshed) - blitz boost gauge - 2 tone tints all around - rear lights half-tinted and finally registration (keep an eye out now) M***HSU - there you have it - this is (and i'm not bloating) the loudest (in terms of exhaust & dump valve) and the fastest auto in bradford - don't know BHP! BUT in terms of colour - it's the official head-turner wherever i go... there you have it guys the full low-down on my sub - i'll be waiting for the waves/horns!!!

Harry_Boy 05 March 2004 11:07 AM

Hi Mate,

Only joking about the likelihood of twoc-ing in the area. We've never had a problem at all - only waves from lots of other Scoobies :D:D:D

Have tried Mumtaz and Akbars in the past - both are excellent, although my recollection is that Mumtaz won't allow alcohol in the restaurant, not even BYO.

Not tried Anams, but the web site looks very tempting.... Will give it a go next time we're over! :)

Your motor sounds very distinctive - will watch out for you. If you see a grey Seat Arosa waving at you, you'll know why (often leave the Scoob at home for curry trips).

Cheers, HB.

MadGrip 05 March 2004 11:58 AM

Hi fellas.

Can any of you lot help me out with this little Question

http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=307671

Cheers

Phil

corradoboy 05 March 2004 12:01 PM

Chris - I think tonight will be a bit short notice for most of us, but if you want to organise the April meet to be a curry night then CG and me are in. See what everyone else thinks at the Bridge this month.

Harry_Boy 05 March 2004 12:17 PM

Only joking Dave - Kath and I usually venture to Bfd for curry on Fri eve. That is if she can wipe off last night's hangover after we went drinking with Yorkshire Si.... :D:D:D I was driving of course, so I'm fresh as the proverbial daisy this AM. ;)

Agreed that it's worth raising this month as a possibility for an April jaunt.

Now, if you & Helen want to join us on any given Friday (or even mid-week), we'd be delighted to have a nosh with ya!

Cheers, Chris.

corradoboy 05 March 2004 12:42 PM

Midweek better, I work fri eve through to mon am. Maybe we could combine a run out with some nosh. Tenants at Kilnsey, Red Lion Burnsall, Devonshire Grassington. Any more for any more :D

I'm off to buy some oil now, as I've just checked it 500 miles after the service and it's dry
