Being a newbie to Scoobies could someone explain what Bump Steer is?
Is it linked to the Geometry Mods etc?
Sorry if this is a dumb question but just want to learn.

I asked this question and got an excellent explanation a couple of weeks ago. I think I asked it in the General forum (whoops).

I've tried doing a search but it doesn't seem to want to work for me at the moment.

Look back a few pages, I'm sure it's there.

Put simply bumpsteer is a change in toe during suspension compression or extention. Basically it is when the tires toe-in or toe-out as the tire goes up or down when hitting a bump or pavement change. This causes steering instability when braking and less than optimal handling. It is caused by a difference in the radious of the steering arm compared to the suspensions radious. For more info try finding the book " How to make your car handle " by Fred Puhn it describes in detail with pictures bumpsteer and roll steer and others and how to make a bumpsteer guage and how to change it.

If you do a search in suspension you *will* find loads of useful info previously discussed.....
