Newbie- GTB blown engine- where to now?

Hi I'm new in here,
my Legacy GTB MY01 70,000 miles - appears to have suffered some kind of catastrophic failure in the engine department :( , I wasn't driving but am told that it was all systems normal, cruising at approx 100 on the Motorway, when sudden loss of power/ engine stop. There was oil on top of the manifold and the recovery truck was covered in engine oil and coolant.
I'm in Surrey and the car has been serviced at Parklane in Alton - is there anyone else in this area who specialises in engine repairs / rebuilds? What sort of cost could I be in for here?
Tried to find a way to search the site for similar questions but couldn't see a search box, so sorry if this has come up before.

I have a complete STi V7 engine in the "for sale" forum if you decide to replace the engine. :)

I also have had a similar thing. The sudden loss of power was caused by one of the big end bolts given up and smashing through the top of the block.
I have done some work on trying to built an STI spec engine which looks to be set around the 4k mark for a complete reubuild, with minor upgades to ensure uk fuel can be used. Hope this helps. All sorts of advice out there, so look around. Japanese performance magazine for some adverts etc.

Might be worth speaking to David O'Brien at API Engines at Harbury.01926 614333. Specialist re-builders and major importers from Japan of used engines and ancilliaries.

many thanks for the replies, I'm leaning towards the API route at the moment. I'll let you know the outcome if you're interested.
