Hi all.
I heard that there are two types of prodrive suspension kit.One of them is harder and the other is the older one, softer.
What are the differences from the old prodrive susp. and the standard one???
Can a uk scoob which is 250hp with harder prodrive susp. beat STI on track??
Thanks a lot

2fast4you, do you have a name?

There are two Prodrive suspension kits for the 'old' shape car. The newer, 'harder' version has not had much of an airing on this Board, so we only have Prodrive's words to go by.

The original suspension upgrade is called the Performance kit. This will "dramatically improve high speed control, grip and traction levels, dynamics and steering response." I've got it, and can vouch for that.

The new kit is called Professional and "represents the ultimate specification for drivers who are prepared to sacrifice some ride comfort for more sporting handling. The driver will benefit from much improved steering response, minimal body roll, reduced understeer and better high speed body control."

Both kits lower the car by about 20mm and are recommended to be used with 17in wheels (ie lower profile tyres).

My reading of this is that the newer Professional kit gives even better handling but with minimal reduction in ride comfort. (I might just try it myself.)

As for this being an STi beating piece of kit, I doubt it. STi cars are already pretty well hung, so to speak. But their main advantage is in top-end power - nothing to do with handling.

Get yourself a PPP (Prodrive Performance Pack) which dramatically improves the mid-range power of standard UK cars. In the real world, what you might lose out on in top-end performance is more than compensated by huge mid-range advanatge.

Have you spoken to your local Subaru dealer about this? They should know what's what.

A Std UK scoob with Std suspension could beat a STI on track given the right driver !!

I think prodrive suspension is as good as ledas.Isn't it?

1. It's not height adjustable.
2. Damping/rebound is not adjustable.

I'd still pick the Leda B kit again.

Steve.
