Mortgages
Has anyone applied for a joint mortgage when one applicant has only worked in their current position for 1 month? Most mortgage providers want you to have worked for a minimum of 3 months.
Is there any way to get around this like getting a parent to go guarantor or getting a signed letter from your manager confirming employment after 1 month etc etc. Any advice/experiences appreciated. Thanks, Simon. |
There are plently of lenders who have no minimum working requirement. If you post brief details or PM me with purchase price, amount of deposit and salary details I can point to to something suitable

You can get a parent to be a guarantor but they must be able to cover your mortgage repayments as well as their own. Scottish Widows have a guarantor mortgage.
Abbey National gave us a mortgage when my othe rhlaf had been working just a month and a half. They require a reference from the employer to confirm employment and salary details. This would be the same for someone who had worked for 10yrs so its not really a problem. |

Abbey @ 4.84 (£934.00 pm) or Halifax @ 4.99 (£949.00pm). Both 2 year fixed, 25 year repayment. Neither have a minimum time in employment
You are tied down to a small number of lenders as the loan is over 3 times your joint incomes. |
Trying Nationwide at the moment with 4.75% - if they wont lend to us then we might as well give up now :(
