STi RA Engine - 5th Injector, for what?
 

Folks,

Can anyone tell me exactly what the 5th injector on the EJ20G closed deck block is used for and when? An asumption is that it provides additional fuelling as required under extreme driving, but I'm not sure its that simple or is it?

Seeing as this is a transplanted engine and I am using a custom map via a Scoobyecu on the back of the standard WRX Z4 ecu, I presume this extra injector is now redundant? Could it be used for another purpose - say water injection? Any advice would be useful.

from memory it doesnt actualy do anything in the road cars, people have tested and found its not actualy hooked up to the ecu (or simmiler) ive read sum threads which gave the impresion that its not suited to extra on boost fueling or simmiler and is possibly used for cold start choke type duties on the motorsport cars??

its been at least a year scince i researched it, so i have no links to hand

i think my fuelling will be fine - just wondered if there was some way to hook up some type of WI for better cylinder cooling.
