Anyone out there got an sti4/5 with MRT springs or springs and dampers

I have the ALK, adjustable ARB, Linkages on 16's - plus bump steer removal and Powerstation settings

However the cars handling is not great -especially high speed cornering where the car has too much body roll

Has anyone had the MRT set up - I would have used Eichbach springs but have heard of as many bad reports as good (particularly on the sti5 where I know of a number of people who have uprated top Eichbach and having taken the springs straight off - as the effect was terrible)

I also want a kit that lowers the front end much more than the rear as the wrx/sti seems to sit a bit low at the rear - especially if u have anything in the boot

Anyone put the front ARB on to good effect - or has anyone had amazing results from uprated front and rear strut braces (as the front strut brace seems to be for eye catching looks on the sti rather than actually performing a function!)

I have ALK, adjustable ARB and Prodrive Handling Package.
Doesn't roll at all and I take motorway bends at 130!
I know you asked about MRT springs but I'm more than happy and very confident with what I have now.

Steve.
If you have an arb at the rear, have you set it to it's stiffest setting and still found it rolls too much ?

Stef.

Bajie - so you still like your Terzo - thats the one with the all sorts of bits done to it if I recall (thats if your the karate guy?)

Stef - the 24mm one is set to the middle setting - it only rolls on high speed corners where I've probably upset the balance

I cant put the rear ARB in stiffist setting as its lethal in the wet - the rear end just flips out - so making it a bit unstable - Have heard comment of the front ARB sorting this

Perhaps I need someone else to test the car to see what they think/would suggest - dont know who's an expert out there really?

Nah... Steve got scared after a 10 second ride in my car..... as a passenger

That said I'm sure its not a shade on your car - especially that Magnex centre section!
Still got a UK car? - no thoughts of exiting the first division into the Premiership?

sunilp 20 October 2000 06:07 PM

Steve, i heard he only got scared coz u almost put him into the side of a bus?? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

I am not worthy of such special cars Steve, so i'll just stick with this second rate motor. I'll let you real men have the real cars http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif.

Seriously i would only buy a Jap import as my next car, but only if they sort out the styling on the new models http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif

Steve,

The only reason I was scared is cos I could see the whites of the bus drivers eyes http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Yeah

Must remember to use the brakes a bit more often!

Then again the car does have a paasenger airbag - supposed to give the passengers a bit more comfort - I mean - I only hit one thing on the 10 mile ride down to the garage!

Come on - live on the edge u might get run over by a Subaru the next day

Steve Lawson 23 October 2000 07:26 PM

Oh yeah I almost forgot about your incident with the bus on the way to the workshop.Must be that bus fetish rearing its ugly head again http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
