sound deadening
 

anyone used noisekiller or a similar sound deadening kit in thier scooby??

if so, wat sort of differance does it make and is it worth it???

the reason i ask is that ive got an afterburner vortex backbox which is quite loud and i have a 6 month old son. i just want to lower the sound of the exhaust in the car a bit. i had a ninja backbox before and that was quieter in the car.

i dont really want to get rid of the afterburner so soon after getting it i love the sound and performance but my nippa mite not be able to sleep.

Noise killer, prolly best VFM sound deadening out there. great help and very customer focused, even replaced my stuff free of charge when I found it slightly faulty.

It works a treat, slap on the silverbacked panels whereever you can, then pop the spongy pad down and your sorted.

I got it to keep the bass inside the car and not vibrate everything around, improved sound and no rattles.

hi i was wondering if anyone had used sound killer grey the liquid stuff you can buy and spray on with an airline gun was thinking of doing the boot out with it to help with the exhaust noise

Your best bet with the noise from an exhaust is to consider replacing or installing a resonator in the mid-section...the drone you're getting is from reverberation from the exhaust centre-section, not the noise coming from the backbox...
You can add more baffle to the box but that will just change the tone of the exhaust.

Sound deadening will help a small amount, but your best bet is to get a resonator. You won't lose much in terms of power...it's not that bad, honest! :D

It makes a big difference mate....especially on the doors.

This summer I should be doing the same on the rest of the floor plan and the rear doors.

Go for it, its well worth it.............

I wouldn't worry too much mate, babs that age will sleep through almost anything - if anything that sort of low rumble will probably help send him to sleep rather than keep him awake.

Presumably with the family in the car you will be resisting the urges and be a steady driver, so things shouldn't be too loud anyway :)
