watch question

for all you watch enthusiasts:

I want to give someone at work a present for some work he has done over and above the call of duty. I know he quite likes watches, but he isn't in the cartier/rolex type wealth bracket. can i get a watch for, say, about £250 that would be appropriate for a gift of this type? if so, any recommendations? he prefers "dress" type to sport type watches.

tia.

:)

I'm a Seiko fan but I am sure others will know better?

How about a tianium Seiko? Or even a Poljot.

Take a look at the websites for either manufacturer.

cheers - quite like the look of this. might be a bit too tasteful for the person in question, though :D

There are some nice Seiko "Kinetic" models going for around £160 brand new on eBay at the moment. Same model i bought in New Yoik a couple of years ago for equivalent of £220 - they were £395 in the UK at the time. A very good bit of kit indeed.

I'd still be wearing mine if i hadn't bought a Speedmaster Professional moonwatch on sunday! :D

Another vote for Seiko Kinetic Titanium, its what's on my wrist as I type, though you might have to forgo the titanium bit if its also Kinetic.
