Help:more noise required

After attending the mwr9 and realising what a feeble and indeed puny exhaust note I possess ("old" P1 bb only) I definitely need more noise (more power would be nice but that's of secondary importance at the moment). I understand that the easy way to get this is the straight thru middle section to the bb method so I'd like to hear your recommendations/suggestions and fitting (south Wales area).

Go for Hayward and Scott all the way through mate. That's what I have finally settled on for mine and as the guys here will testify I have tried them all!!!! I have a H+S downpipe, centre and jap-style back-box and I have not only found it to be the best sounding, but the best for power figures on a rolling road as well.
I have tried: Scoobysport, prodrive, Blitz Nur spec, TSL firestorm and a 5zigen fireball, and it is definitely my favourite.
Drop me an e-mail to matthewdalton@threedc.plus.com and I will send you some pics etc if you like.

I disagree with Twigy - Blitz - all the way :D

I've got a two week old scoobysport back box for sale, very loud with a decat, that's why I took it off!

Blitz was good for power, but on a classic scoob the noise is too much inside the car for me! And if the scoobysport is too loud you can forget Blitz and 5zigen, they are insane!!!!
On a new age the soundproofing is better so you can get away with a Blitz much easier, although chances are your'e neighbours might not like you!!

Scoobysport by H&S. Not too loud, not too quiet. Buy one 2nd hand and pay £10 to have it fitted at your local tyre/exhaust centre.

HKS Hiper Muffler http://www.jap-innovations.fsnet.co....perMuffler.jpgThe HKS Hiper Muffler is one of the loudest systems available. Most Jap exhausts are JASMA (noise level) certified. This is not, so it's LOUD. The system is made from aluminiumised steel with a stainless rear silencer and tailpipe. It does not follow the path of the standard system but exits at an angle to keep the pipework as straight as possible to maximise flow.

:) :)

Those you've mentioned are all good no doubt (though I must say the the blitz system is a tad loud) but I wanted to keep it cheap and cheerful so was thinking more along the lines of a simple straight-thru pipe from Magnex. Anyone used this or something similar?

sammyh 19 February 2004 02:44 PM

Magnex is fine, and will to the burble a bit :)
