If you have a faulty Ohlins unit, you have trouble!

They are made under license by Soqi in Japan Who are owned by Yamaha who own Ohlins, and are not for export. (officially).

It would be cheaper to replace the whole system than to bring in a pair of Ohlins from Japan.

There is no technical support for those units outside Japan.

If you do change your suspension, let me know and I will take the good ones off of you by crossing your palm with silver.

Could even sort you out a discount on replacement suspension if it is actually a faulty damper.

I have them (Ohlins(Soqi))on my car also.

I have this strut on the rear suspension on a 96 STI2.
There is some lateral play (I have been told by a local garage). Will anything other than replacing the whole rear suspension help to solve this problem?

The problem is noticeable after the car has been 1-2 hours into a journey (probably heats up by then) and there is a very annoying rattling noise. The garage mechanics have been in the boot and had another one of them drive the car for a little while! They have isolated it down to this being the problem.

The Ohlins system is adjustable. I am wondering if just tightening or stiffening the back (with a strut brace?) would do the trick.

Any advice is appreciated...

Eewei
