What bulbs in the number plate lights?
Anyone know what bulbs are in the rear number plate lights on a MY00 classic
one of em has gone on mine, so I need to get a new one Cheers Steve |
5W bayonet-less ones, changed mine again at the weekend. MY00
Hope you have had the light covers off recently, the screws tend to rust up solid. Ended up last year getting new covers, rubbers and screws - didn't cost much though. |
Do you know if they are the same for a UK MY98? Both mine have gone.

Cheers for that, can go get a new one now :)
I assume they are all the same |
Plenty of WD40 needed to get the screws out of the covers ,I ended up drilling the buggers out and replacing then with small nuts and blots !

I ended up drilling them out as well but used the supplied screws covered with marine grease !!!

Just use mole grips if the slot is bu**ered.
JFI - It may be that the bulb has'nt blown. If the light comes on with a thump of the bumper / waggle of the bulb bracket then the holding bracket needs tightening. Tricky job, but possible for anyone who can hold a screwdriver. Don't try tightening the nut on the bracket - its welded to the bracket with a screw coming down from behind the bumper. Mail me and I'll explain in detail. Chris chris.towers@baesystems.com |
