Hi. I've had my 96 Sti for about a month
and now seem to have a Knocking noise at the passenger rear.
In a straight line no noise but going into a left or right turning there is a loud knock
Been in the boot nothing loose bounced the back and no noise just round bends

Help Please

I had something similar - turned out to be the peg that locates the bit of cardboard hiding the spare had jumped out of its hole, making it rattle!

In your case, it wouldn't be an anti roll bar bush that's knackered would it?

if its when your chuckin it round a tight corner hard and fast it might just be a heat sheild. does it only knock once? give your exhaust a sharp tug left and right, and if it knocks back at you have a look, and its probably
just that. if it is, try and bend it out of the way a bit.

Have the struts ever been taken off the top hats? If so, were the self locking nuts replaced? Try to tighten the center bolt that connects the strut to the top hat a bit ( not to tight) if the sound goes away buy 5/8 inch (sorry im american) lock washers and new bolts from your dealer and replace the old ones.
