cost me £70 to remove the fecker

i wanted to 'clamp' the fecker on the nose when he tipped up to take it off

i was only across the road for 5 mins, was parked in a marked bay, no machines but didnt notice it was a clamping zone, i reakon he was on watch and zipped in as soon as i was out of sight

bar-stewards

<rant over>

off me chest now, £70 lighter, hey ho :(

You will have to buy a large hammer and decent cold chisel to remove the locks !

Does any one have that link to that website that was featured on fifth gear on how to remove clamps ?

could have done i suppose

but the sticker on my window claimed they had digital photos of my car etc etc

luckily for them the sticker came off with ease too leaving no residue, otherwise i would have been windmilling

didn't think digital photos were worth the paper they were printed on ?? Photoshop and all that ?

Bolt Croppers? Let you tyres down? Someone on TV showed how most can be destroyed just by driving away!!

Never happened to me, but £70 would buy some serious tools to remove it

Photos? digital? not admissable in evidence I don't think? Also, they are hardly likely to take you to court are they?

just taken this from thames valley police website:

Q:Should I try to remove a wheel clamp myself?A:No. Courts have held people to have committed an act of criminal damage to wheel clamps through removing them, or trying to remove them.

so , honestly. whould you have paid up or taken it off by any means possible ?

I would of just paid up, it's only £70 and if u can afford a scooby than £70 aint exactly your weeks wages is it.

Just have 1 less curry this week, and things will even out :D :D

Is this true does anyone know?

I have since read on the internet soliciters website that if you have a letter on the inside of your windscreen (clearly visible) that states 'you have not entered into an agreement to be clamped or to have your car impeded in anyway by the owner of the property, nor any persons representing them', you cover yourself.

The law states that if you park in an area where there are easily visible signs about car clamping then you are agreeing with the signs and you may be legally clamped.

So if you have been recently clamped make sure you take your window sign to the small claims court where you will be awarded the clamp fee!

It's a pain, but why give them what they want.
