Hi,
Over the last few days, I've noticed more and more that when I go over a bump in the road at more than about 30mph, that I get a squeak which appears to be coming from the front of the car. Whilst I realise it's a bit of a long shot with limited information, does any body have any ideas what it might be. The cars a 98MY (terzo) with front strut brace, modified prodrive suspension and 17" speedlines.

thanks

Andy

Yep, mine (94 WRX) does that too, but only over the vicious speed bumps at the business park where I work. Always assumed it was the front ARB bushes.

Try spraying some copperslip on the parts.Use some news paper etc', to mask off the area. It's Blo*dy messy, but very good.Leave it for a while to penetrate, and then wipe away any excces to avoid cr*p sticking to the area.

Mark.

hi,
The car's in for it's 22,500 service (at 19,000 miles though), so I'll get them to check it out when it's there. It only seems to do it over about 35-40mph and on bumpy surfaces. Doesn't appear to have affected the handling so I'm not too concerned at the moment.

cheers

Andy

Recently changed the front anti roll bar bushes and rear bottom arm bushes in MY93 WRX. Now I have this creaking problem! Its only noticeable at below 30mph and has earned a few comments about my weight when I get out in the work car park (only 13st) and it creaks. Wheres that copper slip....

Update

Since I lubricated the bushes in the front suspension the squeak has turned into a clunk. Not sure what this is at present but investigations are pending. Think it might be something to do with the metal inserts in the bushes; They might be a slightly bigger internal diameter than the originals. Will let you know what I find.
