MY03 - MY04 STi Differences?
Im looking at buying a delivery mileage pre-reg MY03 from a dealer. What differences are there (if any) on a MY04 car?

Square boot lock :D
Oh !! and I think the PPP for the MY04 is about 15BHP more than the PPP for the MY03..... Midlife..... |
Any PPP differences remain to be confirmed Midlife ;)
|
square boot lock instead of round ?
sorry midlife, you got it in before me, |
yip square boot lock, longer handle for a part of the seat & unofficialy a PPP for 320PS.
|
Thanks folks. And the 04 PPP will definately not be available for a MY03?? Or does that mean the 03 PPPs will come down in price?!!
|
well, do a search my thread on MY03 vs MY04, were i had problems with my order for one, as for the PPP it is unofficial but thats not to mean it wont happen.

Nothing has been confirmed about the MY04 PPP, APJ. That means no confirmation about its power output, and nothing whatsoever (one way or the other) about whether it'll be applicable to MY03 cars, Steve is commenting on speculation, not fact.
Until Subaru UK make some sort of comment on the record about this, no news is, well, no news. |
i can comment, that at the dealer i am purchasing mt MY04 sti, there is a 2 MY04's with PPP & they are allegedly pushing the usual 305PS, though they are rebadged 300R's (publicity stunt).
GM as tech people go do you think IM & prodrive will go the 320 way ?? |
Might be wrong but I heard somewhere that the newer of the new-age sti's have equal length headers, might be completely wrong but there you go, also heard this effects the lovely burble.

GM as tech people go do you think IM & prodrive will go the 320 way ?? Dave, you're correct in thinking that some of the newest STi's have equal length headers, and you're also correct in thinking that they fundamentally alter the exhaust note. However, at the moment, the only cars so equipped are the MY2003 and newer Japanese market STi's. The MY04 STi Type UK retains the "old" setup. Incidentally, the new headers replace the burble with a hard-edged howl that sounds just as distinctive, and, IMO at least, even better than it used to. It really is a case of "the sound is dead, long live the sound"! :) |
