What size thread for 4-pot caliper bolts ?

Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!

When changing the front discs last night, part of the thread in the caliper came out with the bolt as I undid it. I'd been cautious - Plusgas, gentle persuasion, etc. :(

Now, the bolt goes in finger tight but then fails to bite and goes loose again. Best option seems to be getting a Helicoil inserted into the caliper, but before I ask any locals if they can do it, I need to know what size thread I'm after.

Cheers,

Stu.

From memory it's either M12x1.5 or M12x1.25, but if you've got the bolt then you should be able to measure it.

Andrew...

Thanks Andrew. Couldn't find anyone locally that sounded even halfway confident, so it's gone to ProSport for fixing :(

Double bugger with a side serving of damn and blast :(

Two different engineers wouldn't touch it for a Helicoil, so it's needed a new caliper - and you don't want to know how much they are :(:(
