Adrian Flux Quote me £3200 for a 1994 WRX!!!!!!!!!!!
 

Get this, at some point this month i am picking up a 1994 WRX, i phoned adrian flux, who i am currently insured with, and they quote me £3126.44 fully comp , 25 yrs old, with 2 yrs ncb, i nearly passed out, my premium was like 1200 before i mentioned the scoob...

So i went on line quote hunting, and all of them were coming up at between £2800 and £3500, wtf...., except for one............

DIRECT LINE, fully comp, £100 excess, have to fit a tracker ( no biggy), £1700. sounds alot but after £3500 its good, lol

What are you guys paying????? is that about right for a 25yr old living in northants with 2 yrs NCB.

This topic seems to be raised several times each week, a quick search thru' the previous few days posts should find the relevant threads. But those which are consistently recommended/used are Liverpool Victoria, Elephant, and Tescos.

I know that the new style forum has only just gone live, but:-

1) Isn't it possible for the thread title to be automatically carried forward to the appropriate window in the "reply to thread" screen?
2) Wouldn't it save space/bandwidth if the previous posts were not automatically quoted in each subsequent post?

I just turned 24 when I bought my Scoob. Some companies quoted me ridiculous amounts (£2,500, £3,000, even £5,000), although I did have a good laugh with the operator on the other end of the phone.

Some companies just don't want your (or my) type of business; be it young drivers, high-performance cars, very nickable cars, etc, etc..

Being young, little no claims and wanting to drive a high insurance group, highly desirable car (with theives), is not a very good combination.

All I can suggest is you phone around as many brokers as possible. I personally would avoid the big companies such as Direct Line, Norwich Uniion, AA, RAC, etc. and try a smaller broker. Adrian Flux, Wren, Chris Knott, Axa and Admiral are worth a shout.

I've sort of answered my own question... if you skip down to the "quick reply" window at the foot of the page neither of the above mentioned items appear, but smiley users may be a little disappointed!
