Hi,

Just recently had new clutch/Release bearing, Rocker gaskets and up-pipe fited to MY93 WRX...

It has been fine for the last week but suddenly today while taking a trip down to the shops the car was doing all sorts of freaky things...

Firstly when i left me house the car would'nt idle (from cold) and it was missfiring...

I got it to the shops (400 yards) but when i returned to the car and started her up it would'nt idle still, i went to pull away and there is no power at all, as soon as i try and pull away it wants to stall, it just wont move, the only way i found to get it back was to launch at about 4k in second...it would then pull fine but as soon as your off the power again it would try and stall...

My Gearbox is on it's way out i think as it is whining alot but could this be linked to the above...

I'm in the Sh!t here as i have no car, it took me 15 mins to travel 400 yards...

Please someone help...

Regards,

John.

sounds like a fuelling problem, check the fuel pump relay and give it a tap with a screwdriver ;)

have a look in the engine bay for loose pipes and wires, also check the maf and idle sensors are connected correctly.

Mine was doing this when my MAF failed.

Mine did this when I didnt connect up the intercooler pipe work corectly, and it blew off.

Up pipe may be the key

Check your lamba probe :D - if that has been damaged or at worst isnt in right car wont idle properly !

Cheers guys...

Do i need a lamba probe mate,

The Up-pipe the H+S supplyind me mentioned something that i did'nt need a sensor, not sure if it was the lamda though...

The up-pipe that was fitted had no sensors...

The car was fine for the last few days...

Greeno 01 February 2004 09:15 PM

Borrow one off someone else to test. It just clips in.

Andy
