Hi all. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Finally succumbed to taking my Impreza on a track day on the 19th of June at
Ty Croes on Anglesey. The day is organised by Tracksense who appear to be a
highly sensible, professional and well-organised bunch.

My insurers (AXA via Catterall) say that I won't be covered. This is despite
being told that "there shouldn't be any problem with that" on taking out the
policy. Having talked to AXA, they told me that "technically" I am covered,
but they would do everything they could to refuse a claim, the implication
being I am "racing" if I am on a track with another car.

So ... does anyone know of anywhere that will provide "one-off" track day
insurance cover? The company organising the day offers cover for damage to
the car (NOT third party risks) at around £10 for every £1000 of cover, but
I wondered if any better deals were available.

Interestingly, my mate who is coming with me called his insurers (Lloyds via
Greenlight). On his policy, track events are specifically excluded, yet he
can purchase cover for just £65 pounds. The weird bit is that they bump the
excess up to £700 for the *whole day*, including driving there and back!

Thanks in advance anyway.

Andrew.

Call Egger Lawson on 0115 941 5255. Cover is generally between £30 and £120 per event, depending on the risk and the cover you want.

If there no good speak to Nik Kershaw on 0115-941-5255 £55 for £6k worth then £10 per grand you want insured ...engine not covered.

IS.

Cheers for the help guys!

Nik turned out to be a really helpful guy, and I've ended up saving about £50. I feel a lot happier about the track day now. It's worked out at £98 for the day.

Don't suppose you know anywhere that offers free tyres ....? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
