Having started as a VW event, Run To The Sun has become an all comers event in recent years - has anyone got plans to go this year?

If so, pop into the fish and chip shop in Porth - between Trevelgue and Newquay. Well worth the trip just to sit gazing and the cute blonde who works in there!

Fistral beach, Hendra campsite, Beetle with surfboard strapped permanently to the roof with duct tape. Always parked outside the Sailors, or the Newquay arms.
Trusscots Fish & Chips on top of ten bottles of Steam lager, I was your worst nightmare......:D

Guaranteed Clamidia, every year.

Always p1ssed down, and took us 5 hrs to get there, flat out 75mph.

Full of knobs in baseball caps- last years caused significant damage to Newquays tourist trade- seems some of the hard Nova driving types didnt realise the amount of army lads about in Newquay! shame..........

Lads in our group were chased from the pub, they vaulted a wall and a bush, and plumetted to the beach.:(

One lad called Frazor held on to the bushes and survived. Didnt know the lads who died.

That was a while back......20 years? I must have been drinking when I was 8.

You mean, having started life as a hot-rod event, surported by Custom Car mag, the assistant editor of said mag then left to set up Volks World mag and urged his readers to join the hot-rodders there, then it becoming a VW event and now that the air-cooled VW scene is dying, it's sorta reverting to type? :)

no, but the event is over shadowed by the boy racers who flood the town.
