Two nuts, built around one vision - mme, which one shall we get?

Sorry for being dense, but I don't particularly need locking wheel nuts on my Astra - I do however want them on the scoob.

Are they all basically the same (Halfords here we come) or are some stronger and more difficult to get off?

I'l said it before and I'l say it again ...you can't do better than a set of Paddy Hopkirk locking wheel nuts via Demon Tweeks.

They don't rust and stay flush like the other wheel nuts (unlike Subaru ones that jut out).

Try a search as I had a similar thread a few weeks ago.

The bottom line is, I got a get of Paddy Hopkirk Locking Wheel Nuts from Demon Tweeks for 32.05 inv VAT and Delivery.

I'd stay away from Halfords nuts as I'm told there are only about 2 or 4 different keys, so not so good for security.

I'm also told that the Subaru ones stick out a bit, though I can't comment on this.

I had no probs with DT when I got the nuts, however, a mate was trying to get some bits (gearknob I think) from them and it took ages, so I guess it could depend on stock levels.

BTW you don't need to jack up the car to fit the nuts, or that's what I was told (well, had drummed into me!)

After reading the posts on this BB I bought a set of the Paddy Hopkirk locking wheel nuts from DT - came in 24 hours. But they are HUGE! I was expecting something a little smaller and of a similar size to the originals. There aren't two types are there? Although they had a Paddy Hopkirk sticker (and I remember him so well!) they were manufactured by McG... something (box not to hand).
Also, what torque do we apply to our prized nuts? - I've looked at the FAQ and there is no mention. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/confused.gif

Your PH lockers are they the flat fronted type with the floral design cut into them??

I think they look fine on as they don't protude thus not looking as chunky as they do in the box/hand.

As for tightening, well i just did it by the good old car supplied wheel brace and they haven't fell off yet!

Yes, they are the flat-topped ones with the floral design, but they are much taller than the standard nuts, I expected them to be around the same size, somehow. Still if they do the job and don't put the wheels out of balance that should do the trick. i will compare them with the others at Bentley on Sunday!
BTW I have a torque wrench (relic of a long-gone pasttime racing modified Sprites) so I might as well make use of it (if I can discover the settings!)
