Hey all, what, if any, potential problems are there in fiting a decat downpipe to a scoob with decat centre, scoobysport back box, baily d/v and scoobyecu?
Looking to take advantage of the groupbuy but need some assurances first, tech hints not MOT advice please. Thanx. Skoosh. |
Shearing a stud would be the worst outcome :)
The MOT can be passed by borrowing a twin cat centre section from someone. Quite a few people on here have them available. You dont want to swap the DP for MOT as its a 2hr job minimum. Best outcome is the power after :) MB |
Forget that. The MOT can be passed on the standard mid pipe if everything is warmed up............easy. But he's right on the shearing of stud thing.............thats a bit of a nightmare!

I changed my downpipe in an hour and half last weekend, but i was lucky that every single nut came off dead easy once they were loose.I've got a scoobyecu.de-cat centre section and scoobysport backbox fitted to my car and have had no probs since fitting the downpipe, apart from a sore face with all the grinning:D

std centre will not pass a wrx it has no cat, so that only works for uk cars

:)
And you will probably have to trim the turbo heatshield to fit the new DP, Which takes a bit of time. Need ramps also. MB |
Cheers all, no mention of re-mapping then? Is that because I already have a scoobyecu and it's a my96 pre-facelift?
Skoosh. |
Doesn't need a remap. But it will work well with the Scooby ECU.

Skoosh, I've a full de-cat on mine - TSL jobbie - As you know, I'm running the original ECU (Not much choice really!)
No probs - or you'd have heard :D Mark |
Pavlo - are you sure the WRX has no cat - my WRX MY94 did in the centre pipe!
Gonna refit it for the MOT later in the year. Are there any markings on the exhaust / resonator / catalyst part of the OEM centre that tell me one way or other? Ta Neil |
