Goochie 15 January 2004 03:27 PM

Well done.

I find it interesting that someone can make over 1000 posts on the "The Subaru Impreza and Performance Car Community" when they dont even drive :s

Scooby96 15 January 2004 03:33 PM

Not that unbelievable if its mainly in NSR

imlach 15 January 2004 03:36 PM

How long before the first "got caught doing x+20 in a x mph limit - what should I do?" post? :)

ajm 15 January 2004 03:41 PM

The words "Well Done" are sticking in imlach's throat! ;)

Goochie 15 January 2004 03:41 PM

MooseRacer_1 15 January 2004 03:44 PM

Well done Poor Guy

I echo ajm's thoughts about driving in, or near, Bristol :D

andrewdelvard 15 January 2004 04:05 PM

Congratulations.
Watch out for those speed cameras...

Chip 15 January 2004 04:16 PM

Be careful on those one-way streets Poor guy.

Well done boy.

Chip

chaos. 15 January 2004 04:18 PM

Well done.
How many lessons did you have?

Think its about time I gave it another go..

Poor Guy 15 January 2004 04:24 PM

bout 30 odd but thats because i couldnt book my test earlier.

I was minored because my instructor has always told me to have my left mirror pointed at the kurb so i can see when manouvering.
i was minored because i couldnt see behind me in that mirror when coming off of roundabouts, even though i checked my blindspot everytime.

chaos. 15 January 2004 04:28 PM

You mean you had 30 lessons since you did your last test to this one?!

I've not got that sort of money:(

I hate driving tests.

Poor Guy 15 January 2004 04:36 PM

no, no. i had 2 double lessons after a month after the 1st time.

since my last test ive spent £96 which i did for overkill to know i would pass.

chaos. 15 January 2004 04:46 PM

It doesn't matter how much I spend on them, I still don't pass the fvkker:D

And to be honest Im running out of test centres
At least im good at something..

..failing driving tests:D

edit - My m8 just txted me, he failed his test today.. poor bugger.

tiggers 15 January 2004 04:52 PM

Poor Guy,

Well done and just take it easy for a while - remember that you never stop learning depsite the fact you have a driving license - well at least I don't anyway. :D

The words "Well Done" are sticking in imlach's throat!
A tenner says he can't say it without some sort of jibe :D :D

tiggers.

weapon69 15 January 2004 05:28 PM

Well done Poor Guy. Glad to hear you passed with so little minors.:)

imlach 15 January 2004 05:29 PM

Agreed.

Well done on your non-perfect pass :)

Poor Guy 15 January 2004 07:31 PM

thank you. ;)

just stay away from Doncaster if you like your panels in good condition.

carl 15 January 2004 08:48 PM

I was minored because my instructor has always told me to have my left mirror pointed at the kurb so i can see when manouvering.
WTF! That sounds like a load of crap to me. Far more important to be able to see out of it when you're driving (like >95% of the time) and hence going fast (i.e. bigger potential accident) than when you're manoeuvring slowly. And you can always adjust it.

I used to check my blind spot every time I went onto a motorway. But since getting the TVR I've found out you can actually see less over your shoulder than you can out of the driver's side mirror

Poor Guy 15 January 2004 10:07 PM

mmmmmmmmmm. my thoughts were exactly that the 1st time i was told i should have my mirror pointed down.

UFO 15 January 2004 10:49 PM

I agree with Carl, but, when I set the mirrors on a car I try to make a compromise between seeing back down the road and down to the curb for parking etc. (however after you've been driving a little while you'll get to know the angles and technique and wouldn't need to have a direct view of the curb). :)

At the end of the day mirrors are there you help you and others around you, if you knocked someone off a bike on your driving test I'm certain you would fail! Better to curb an alloy than take a life :(

Having thought about it a little more, your instructor really shouldn't be telling you do something that will get you a minor  Maybe you should tell him he's wrong - get a refund ;)

Congratulations

UFO

carl 15 January 2004 11:00 PM

If you've got electric mirrors (I know you won't have on a GT6) it isn't much effort to drop the passenger side one down to show the kerb when parking anyway. As UFO says, it only takes a few weeks to learn all the angles for your particular car.

tiggers 16 January 2004 01:05 AM

Well done! You managed it 2nd time
Nice one imlach - that's so close I'm going to give it to you.:D

tiggers.

Poor Guy 16 January 2004 07:52 PM
