Cheers Rich.

My brother-in-law has got a blitz on his Evo6, so I know what you mean about the sound.

I've also heard about "possible" problems with the Blitz on later cars - and I'm not sure I'd want to risk it - hence thinking about the K&N.

I've been looking at the K&N 57i kit, and have a few questions.

I've currently got a full scoobysport exhaust and an ITG filter. I've heard that an induction kit on such a set up will sound like a atmo d/v - is it really noticeable? (for me the louder the better http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif).

How will it compare to the ITG filter as far as feeding the engine with air?

How often do such things have to be cleaned and re-oiled (or whatever you have to do!)?

Finally, has anybody got one of the new generation K&N, and if so how do they compare?

So many questions I know,l but as usual completely confused!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Matt,

I've got a Blitz induction kit and it's the Dog's danglies. It's made solely of stainless steel mesh, so no oiling and it won't wear out. According to Blitz it also means you get the best possible airflow.
Some people have said it's filtration isn't as good as it should be but I don't know.
Some people don't like putting them on the later cars, but mine's a 96.

Check out the technical blurb on

Hi Matt.
I've had my K&N for yonks now, and wouldn't swap it for the world. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
I was planning to get one of the new 'Generation 2' kits when they come out, but it's not going to fit on my car when the fmic goes on. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif
The fmic comes with a K&N cone anyway though! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
The K&N is not as loud as say the Pipercross, but IMHO it's much nicer. More of a 'tishhhhhh' than the 'horse snorting' noise of the others! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Stef.

Stef,

What is fmic?

How often do you have to clean the kit?

Cheers,

Matt

Have you looked at the HKS Racing Suction Kit? I have it and it is lovelllly!

Just to throw it into the mix, I have a Unifilter RamPod Induction kit, and it's tops!

Available from MRT in OZ, or Scoobymania in Blighty!

Personally I prefer it to my old K&N 57i, but it's personal taste.

It needs cleaning every 7,500 miles or so. Just clean the foam filter with turbs, and re-oil it using Unifilter filter oil.

Couldn't be easier! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
