I've recently fitted a new MAF and to speed the ecu learning process up I reset the ecu.
I've just had a new lambda sensor fitted and the car seemed to instantly do a few more miles per gallon.(placebo ? ) Should I reset the ecu to benifit the lambda learning curve or is it constantly readjusted by the ecu anyway. Chris Edited to add - cars a UK 99 Turbo [Edited by SCOOBY TOWERS - 1/8/2004 2:28:15 PM] |
99 car adjusts fairly quick so you should be okay, not that resetting the ecu would hurt either.

Cheer JGM.
Now where did I put that how to reset ecu paperwork ? Chris |
Its next 2 your Arthur Daley manuals :D

The ECU is very dynamic in its learnings, resetting the ECU is not needed because you changed the lambda, however it is a good idea as it will clear any fault codes you may have developed from your faulty lambda.

With ignition off.. connect green and black connectors under the dash.. turn off immobiliser.. switch on ignition (don't start the engine) press accellerator to the floor and then back to half throttle and hold for 30seconds or so.. take foot off loud pedal and start the car.. drive normally but off boost until the check engine light flashes once per second (okay code) or an error code.. pull over and disconnect plugs.. job done.

Cheers again JGM.
