Are Mintex 1144 pads ok for the occasional (monthly) track day and 20,000 miles per year?

Or should I try something else?

I used them for this use and they were excellent. However, I had them paired with a 335mm Godspeed kit and the extra cooling of the big discs may have contributed to their long life.

The Godspeeds are on their way, so it sounds like it should be ok,
Cheers :)

I also have them with the 335 godspeed kit, I did one trackday, and I reckon I used half of the pads in one day!!! and the rears were almost totally shot, they wore tapered for some reason, the leading edge was much more worn, therefore a new set was required!!

Doesn't change my opinion though!!

They're good!

Ron,

That sounds like a sticking / rusty piston in the caliper... :(

Might be worth checking over next time you have the pads out (might be a dodgy piston seal letting in water etc)

I've had 44's and I'm now using 55's with the Godspeed kit. If I were you, I would go with the 55's as they offer a lot better stopping power than the 44's did.
