Sounds a trifle Max-Power, but I was amazed at the difference on the 5 speed for the gear shift quality by changing to a Momo gearknob borrowed from T-uk and then bought my own from Halfords. It drops the knob by about 1-2 inches, but feels easier not harder to engage gears. More effective than a quickshift alone on a 99/00 we reckon. Maybe the shape of the gearknob helps too.

Sayin' Nowt!
For now! |
'When I were a lad'...one of the 'classic' scooby mods was hacksawing off 2/3'rds of the top of the gearstick to give yourself a 'quick-shift' Agree that the Momo knobs effectively do the same thing...and they match the steering wheel nicely too! ;)
