After the recent posts, I'm thinking of doing a cambelt change.

I have had two quotes for a cam belt -
1. From the local Subaru garage - OE belt @ £105 + VAT http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif
2. From motorfactors - QH belt @ £55 + VAT.

Obviously the QH belt is miles cheeper, but is it to the same quality as the OE belt?
When changing the cam belt, what manufacturer of belt have people used?

Comments please - which belt should I go for?

Dave,

I am in the Coventry area too and get all my work done by Roger Clarke Motorsport (and ScoobyMania http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif ). Try getting in touch with either Matt or Olly at RCM they are top geezas and will sort you out no probs. They did a major service on mine and used a genuine Subaru belt.

They have a website here...

Hi,Ive been fitting QH cambelts to various types of vehicles from 1.0 Fiat Pandas to 3.0 Vauxhall Omegas without any problems whatsoever but saying that i will be soon doing the belt on MY96 STi and will be opting for a belt from Graeme Goode which i think i got quoted around £60+vat!!!!!!!!.
I hope this helps

Don't skimp on the belt quality just for the price saving, make sure you are getting at least OEM quality which ever one you go for.
