Vodaphone can do me the 6600 200mins and 100 free texts for circa £45 per month + £20 - £40 for the phone

Im with 02 and contract has just expired can only do the phone for £179

been with them since 1997 / 1998 and reguarly spend over £100 per month..

Dont want the hassle of changing networks but its looking likely :(

Had a similar problem, but when I asked for the pac code ,they came up with a much better deal!

Ring 02 Back and say you will cancel and take out another contract, they soon change their minds normally, a mate got a new phone the other day for free, they wanted £150 at the start of the conversation (with 02 CS)

Allready asked for a PAC code and said I will change networks.. guy on phone said 'ok'

Firstly, you never NEED to call customer serices, because in my experience, nothing ever goes wrong. Secondly, when you do need to phone them they are more helpful than any other networks I have tried.

Orange are moderately more expensive though, but you get what you pay for!

I would have to agree there. Orange are superb.

Call me stupid but you can get a much better deal from o2 the vodaphone anyway.

You can buy the 6600 for £200 ang get 200free minutes + 500free txts + 500 wap minutes for £30 a month thus saving £180 a year in the contract price, esencially bringing the phone down to £20, just you get 400 extra free texts a month the vodaphone and the 500 extra wap minutes, with o2.

Orange are just as bad. Both Wifey & I were with Orange since 1996, and regular £50 p/month customers.

We were both out of contract, and wanted to change our phones (incidentally, never even claimed on the free insurance).

Customer service bascially told my wife get lost when she posed the same question as the poster. Needless to say, she left Orange.

I then called them to express my disgust at how my wife had been treated, and that I too would be leaving, and they bent over backwards to accomodate me, but this only made matters worse. Why treat two customers (in the same household) differently?

As a result of this, we both joined O2, and so far (although our contracts are due in Feb), we've been treated very well indeed.

It's a sign of the times that (particularly in the telecommunications industry) that customer loyalty means sweet FA.

Orange used to be great (the reason for my using them in the first place).
However, like most other firms who've won the JDPower survey ;), this went to their heads, and next thing you now, they're as bad as the rest.

ian, thats assuming that I would actually use over what came with the voda deal. if not then £180 outlay..

Id much rather just get a new phone and bung this sim card in, I dont want the hassle.

T-mobile: never realy had a problem.

Apart from poor network coverage.

T-Mobile have got far better from their old "One-2-One" days. My wife swapped her O2 tariff for a much better T-Mobile one and the coverage is actually greater than with O2.

As I said, Orange are more expensive, and I suppose with that comes a reluctance to hand out freebies in comparison to some of the other operators, but for someone who spends an appreciable amount of time floating around a few miles off the Cornish coast, reliability and network coverage are a higher priority for me.

I guess for someone who is mainly city bound with an abundance of available GSM transmitters this is less of an issue!

I get a great reception in Selfridges....

Never had an issue with the actual service - coverage was great (until I went to Banbury!)

I/we weren't even after a freebie (nothing in life is free!), just some long-term customer discount or something.

Still, their loss. I won't recommend them to anybody now.

I don't think O2 have anything going for them!

I have a work phone with them, the coverage is shocking compared to my own Vodafone mobile, the corporate customer services is appaling (regulary over 30 mins to get through).

As a result I would never have a personal contract with them!

Vodafone always buckle on upgrades, have decent networks, etc etc

Just gone for a different 02 tarrif at £61 per month, 400mins 400txts got loads of months free line rental and the phone for £cheap.

It's a motorsport intermediary, we do all the behind the scenes stuff, teams outsource the management (bit like Subaru & Prodrive).

I just have to convince the sponsors of said teams we look after to keep sponsoring us :)

Dunno what my work tariff is, its one of those group things, it's obviously crap though as my bills can be anything up to £400/500 when I have to use it for remote access etc :(

Should have gone for Voda ;) I think mine is 600 (any time-any network) mins & 600 texts for £50 a month (but then I have had the number for a while - it's an old tarrif they keep trying to change me off) I can't see me giving it up - it's too good a deal :D
