I have an MY99 with full SS exhaust 33K miles that surges in 4th and 5th gears when I floor the throttle at about 70 - 80 Mph.
Almost seems like a lack of fuel the way the power comes in and out.

Any ideas??

Cheers

Sounds to me like the clutch could be slipping. I had a similar problem with a 200bhp Renault 5 Turbo a few years ago. Fitted a new clutch problem went away.

I would either clean or change my boost solenoid. Had the same problem myself changed it once and now have a Blitz DSBC, boost controler fitted with no probs.

Martin,

I had a similer problem at part trottle see below:

-have you had your 30k service, they are supposed to change the plugs, if the service was done still check the plugs and the leads, they could be loose. My dealer did a dirty and did not change plugs on the 30k service.

-Have you got a dump valve? after market 1?

-Make sure everything / pipes are all tight, no cracks, holes etc.

Try the above and let me know, it's alway something petty.

regards

TC

I had the service done at the end of Jan by my main dealer. I'll check what you have suggested though, thanks
