Can I get away with not fitting a plastic pocket when I replace the standard head unit - cos I'll probably do it on boxing day while I'm at work... I won't have the plastic pocket until the Scoob dealer reopens after Christmas, and I'd like to test out my new headunit, which is a Blaupunkt.

m8, yes, i did the same thing for a mates mazda and he did not have the pocket, just bear in mind big gap and easy to steal.

Just in case you haven't done it yet, I can confirm that it will cause you no problem whatsoever in your Scooby ....... but you will have to take the fascia apart again when you want to put the pocket in.

Ah yes, I also get excited about new stereos and want to just get it in there even if I haven't got all the bits, lol.
