OK folks time to own up.

My slightly modified 99 Impreza was matched, ney slightly beaten by a P reg M3 last night.
Nothing to be embarassed about I'm sure, but what are the performance stats for these indicator free German coupes?

Anyone out there with the figures (BHP, 0-60, 0-100,) etc it would be great to know what I was playing with...

321bhp, 0-60mp in approx 5.4s, and 0-100mph in a shade over 12s.....

They have 321bhp and no 4wd transmission losses. I'd expect an STI to stay close,. but a standard UK turbo/wrx wouldn't stand a chance. I seem to recall 0-60 in about 5.5 and 0-100 in 12 and a bit? Not 100% though.

Indeed...great minds...and at least the figures matched!

My best mate has one. I was in my sti and got a 13.6 quarter mile time, even when his best in his '98 M3 Evo was 14.1. I think it says it all. Great cars mind you have driven it on a number of occasions.

16v - that may be the time for the non-evo

The non-Evo is slightly slower - 5.9s to 60 sounds about right for that model.

The Evo is certainly around 5.4 - 5.5s.

coulty, i think yer mate needs some practice in his gear changes or maybe he's running an SMG :)

The M3 was behind me off 3 roundabouts down the A570 - each time I throttled it it just stuck to my back bumper - couldnt shift it.
When I finally get the chance to pull over it eased past me to show the M3 badge - so we didnt really get to race side by side (not that I would ever race its illegal)!!

Anyway my 99 just has straight through magnex, bleed valve thingy and new sporty springs (not much use in a straight race)...

Right - off to open the bucks fizz now and eat some mince pies - now where did I put Cheryl Baker?
