I'm already planning on being in Thailand for xmas and new year - could tag this on nicely.

Now - will my girlfriend be OK going back early http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Damn! Looks like I picked the wrong year to start a family!!!! The cars, the location, the itinerary, I wanna go! I wonder if we could persuade CA to hold CA-World in Thailand next year? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

I notice one of the attractions you visit is the opium fields. Get high and then try to drive fast along a mountain pass!!!!!!!!

And there is a fridge on the boot!!

Erm, who's gonna lend me £2100, please http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Darn, I'm having to make do with a week on the West Coast of Scotland at the end of July, preceeded nicely with a Knockhill event on the 22nd! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

hmmm - looks quite tempting http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Anyone know if this is a brand new venture or have they already got the cars and run some holidays? Reason I sound skeptical is because a friend of mine got stung for 1200 squids last year for a whitewater rafting holiday - the company was ficticious (sp?).

Drivers in Thailand are mad, though. Whole families on mopeds (I mean the whole family on one moped http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif!)come shooting out of side roads without even looking, let along stopping. Thai drivers in their generally not very fast cars are used to this but our frenzied westerners in tip-top machinery might get a shock. Also, even though speed limits might be less enthusiastically enforced, they still exist and I wouldn't fancy a night in a Thai jail if some Thai plod decided that he was going to pick on me for going three times as fast as everyone else on the road. Maybe they're just going to some place up in the jungle where there are no mopeds and no plods?

It is a new venture which will be operating by October. They have the necessary financial backing behind them, and are flying out to Japan in AUguest to buy the cars, before shipping them to Thailand to have all the necessary conversion work done on them.

I have been informed that the police have been very pleased with the plans to date (extra tourist dollars!), and have offered their co-operation http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
