Hi all, sorry to ask what is probably a 'repeat' question, but the FAQ ain't there, which I thought might have helped.

I've a MY95 which I've run for many years on the standard wheels, but now looking to change these, partly to give it a facelift, but also for better performance from the tyres, etc.

The car is used by me, but also as a kiddie transporter (3yo and new one in a few weeks). I'd like to go for 17", but will these be too harsh a ride for the youngsters, so better to get 16s? Also, I know nowt about tyre sizes, so any advice gratefully received on thee too? Hoping to take advantage of Black Circles Xmas offer unless anyhoine can recommend other sources (including alloys).

Cheers

Remember Subaru's have a high offset of ET53/55. Look for a wheel in this range, most will be about ET45/48 depending on size.
On a 7x16" wheel go for a 205/50 tyre and on a 7x17" wheel a 215/40 tyre is a common choice. Subaru recommend a 205/45 but these can limit your choice.
Tyre's are subjective, but stick with what you read in this forum and you can't go wrong, many choose Goodyear GSD3, Bridgestone S02/S03 and Toyo Proxes T1-S.

Cheers for that. The F1s seem pretty popular as well, and quieter on the road. true?
